Flagstone fire pit

Made in a  wild stile, this firepit is made of mountain rock with decompresed granit between the flagstones to prevent the furniture sync in the ground.

Drainage in Fire Pit? - Is there any drainage in the fire pit? 
What happens when it rains. Will it collect water and form a "pool" making it difficult for future fires?

The entire fire pit is built on compacted gravel. Then the pit and stone are placed on top of the firm surface. The compacted gravel is placed with a pitch to allow for water drainage. The fire ring, decorative gravel and flagstones all allow for water to flow thru, therefore eliminating the pool effect.
